    HARMONY—an extraordinary evening of Music, Dance and Friends for Queen street fire victim Michael Dubrule

    Toronto, ON – May 16, 2008 – On February 21, 2008, commercial photographer, Michael Dubrule lost his home of twenty years, in a massive six-alarm blaze on Queen St.W. Michael did not have insurance. All Michael has left is his family and friends.

    Owen Tennyson initiated, and is the driving force behind HARMONY. Along with Michael Fonfara, and sister Elaine Tennyson, he rallied cohorts in the entertainment industry to band together to support Michael during this very difficult time.

    What: HARMONY—a benefit in support of Michael Dubrule. The evening’s entertainment will include performances by: "The Michael Dubrule All Star Band", featuring Owen Tennyson, (Blue Peter, The Infidels), Michael Fonfara, (Lou Reed, Foreigner), Joe Mavety, (Marianne Faithful, Dr. John), Darryl "Harpo" Peterson, (David Wilcox, Philip Sayce), Michael Slosky, (Marc Jordan), and percussionist Jeff Thrasher. Also performing, Atlantic Records recording artist, Ko Kapches, (Dylanesque hip hop), Cajun Moon, Home Grown, Farside and The Best. There will be a special dance performance by Suzi Horton of sheVISIONS, who is spearheading The E.V.E., (eclectic venue experience), Cabaret Series – PART ONE FILM NOIR, opening in Stratford on May 29, 2008…and many more special guests.

    Concert (9:00pm – 11:30am) Tickets: $30.00 (at door only)

    Why:To raise funds for AIDWYC enabling legal and other support for people who have been wrongly convicted, public education on wrongful conviction, and prevention advocacy through legislation recommendations and Inquiry participation.

    The Launch

    How: Please join us for a complimentary Sleeman’s at the official launch party, 5:30-7:30pm, on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 @ PJ O’Briens (39 Colborne Street). Pick up posters and flyers at this event!
    The Event

    The evening will consist of three separate elements: an exclusive VIP Reception, Silent Auction and live Benefit Concert.

    Delicious appetizers will be served between 6:30-9pm, and guests will have an opportunity to network with members of Toronto’s well-known legal and financial communities.

    Silent Auction: To be run throughout the evening. Items/services will be donated with a suggested $100- $3,500 retail value.

    VIP Reception: A celebrity MC will host the VIP Reception and brief live auction. Guests of honour include Steven Truscott and many other wrongly convicted people. There will be a number of local Toronto personalities in attendance, media personalities, and high profile members of the legal community including James Lockyer, Brian Greenspan, Paul Copeland and other AIDWYC Directors and friends.

    Concert: Confirmed musical guests include Liberty Silver, the David Shaw Trio, Fred Eaglesmith, 10,000 Maniacs, Blue Peter and The Spoons.

    Last night I dropped by Peter Moore’s mastering studio to listen to the ‘baked’ tape transfers of the Blue Peter tracks that will be on the "Are You Ready" comp and they sound amazing.

    We listed to the entire "Test Patterns For Living" EP. It’s amazing that the tapes have so much clarity after all this time.
    Blue Peter tracks included will be Same Old Place, Radio Silence, Chinese Graffiti, and Don’t Walk Past.
